3.1 Active Rosters.  Active rosters consist of: four (4) Centres, eight (8) Wingers, six (6) Defensemen and one (1) or two (2) Goalies.  That means that you must, at minimum, dress 4 Centres, 8 Wingers, 6 Defenseman and 1 Goalie.

3.2 Reserve Rosters.  Reserve rosters consist of five (5) roster spots, and can be filled by players of any position.

3.3 Farm Rosters: Farm rosters consist of a minimum of three (3) and maximum of fifteen (15) spots, and can be filled by players of any position.

3.4 Injury Reserve.  The injured reserve list is unlimited.  The only restriction is that players must be listed as 'injured' by Fantrax in order to be added to their team's injured reserve list.

3.5 On Goalies: To accumulate points, there is a games played minimum of 10 games played for all goaltenders.  Team goaltenders (combined) are capped at an upper limit of 90 games played.  If a team has two goalies on its roster who both play in 60 or more games in the current NHL season, then that team's general manager must dispose of one of those goaltenders in the succeeding off season.  A general manager who must divest a goaltender as a result of this rule will have from the end of the regular season until the Forum Ice Leafs Dynasty League's annual entry draft to trade one of its goaltenders.  If one of the goaltenders has not been dealt by the entry draft, then the general manager must declare which goalie s/he wishes to keep.  The other will be eligible for the entry draft.  If that goaltender is not selected in the entry draft then then the general manager may keep that second goalie.

[4] Trades

4.1 General:  Any team asset can be traded in this league; any player (roster or reserve), prospect or draft pick.  As the Fantrax interface allows teams to make trade proposals and complete trades, the majority of trades will occur through Fantrax. There are two caveats: trades involving goaltenders, and trades involving draft choices.  The rules pertaining to trades involving goaltenders and/or draft picks are outlined in sections 4.2 and 4.3 herein.

4.2 Goaltender Trades: when goaltenders are traded, their  save percentage Fantrax statistic will be pro-rated from the time of the trade.  This means that the save percentage value they have attained will be recalculated on a per-game basis prior to and following the trade.  The commissioners will be responsible for the prorating; as such, when a goalie is dealt the commissioners must be notified of the trade via email at  forumiceleafs@gmail.com

4.3 Involving Draft Picks: Fantrax only permits the trade of draft picks in its paid service.  As this league permits the trading of draft picks, this means that the trade of draft picks must be recorded manually.  As such, whenever a draft pick (or picks) is included as part of a trade, the commissioner must be notified via email at  forumiceleafs@gmail.com.  As draft choices are tracked on this website, the commissioner will update the website accordingly whenever draft picks are traded.

4.4 Trade Deadline: The annual NHL Trade Deadline date will serve as the trade deadline date for this league.  No trades will be permitted in this league from the trade deadline date until the end of the NHL regular season.

4.5 Trade Review: The commissioner reserves the right to review any trade.  Should the commissioner find a trade objectionable then the commissioner can appoint a panel of three randomly selected (using an online random list generator) general managers who are not party to the deal in question to review the trade.  The three randomly selected general managers shall be responsible for conducting a vote to determine if the trade should be put to a league-wide vote (excluding the general managers party to the trade in question).  If 2 of the 3 panel members elects for a league wide vote, then the remaining general managers will vote on the deal.  If a super-majority (60%+) votes to reject the trade, then the trade will be disallowed.

[5] Rosters

5.1 General: General managers will be responsible for ensuring that their roster meets the mandated roster limits.  The league shall be self-policed so if a general manager notices a violation by another general manager then they shall notify the commissioner at  forumiceleafs@gmail.com

[6] Waiver Rules

6.1 Waivers: When players are released outright they will be subject to a 48 hour waiver period.  Waiver list order will be determined by reverse standings.  For more information on this rule please consult the rules listed on Fantrax.  This waiver period will also apply when free agency opens following the 2011 Entry Draft.
